'89 Dodge Ramcharger

I didn't think I'd ever get rid of this "do anything you ask" truck... I absolutely loved it!

Previous to the Indy truck, I drove this 1989 Dodge Ramcharger. Purchased new from a van conversion outfit in January of 1990, I put 65k miles on it before trading it on the Ram in July of '96. I though I would never give up that Ramcharger. They are the most versatile vehicles ever made and I took advantage of that fact every time I drove it. Though not really suited for it with a short wheelbase and 318, I towed with it regularly. It hauled parts... I'm talkin' major big parts... in the back with the seat folded down. Your typical 4x8 sheet of whatever fit nicely in the back and you could shut the gate. At the other end of the spectrum we would load up a group of friends and take off for the weekend. There is far more room inside a Ramcharger than any of the SUVs I've seen. Hell, we used to change drivers at speed... put 'er on cruise, hold the wheel steady while the driver would literacy stand up, walk to the rear, and the replacement driver would walk over and sit down! If you've owned one you know what I mean.

We drove the Ramcharger to the Mopar Nationals I think 4 times... PERFECT for that! It made a great base of operation from which to work from during the long tiring days looking for parts, and then could easily carry all the parts back home for you! Just check out the picture to the right... the Ramcharger is loaded to the gills with travel and vacation goodies... and I mean packed.

If I were in the market for a SUV, I'd hunt down a good ol' Dodge Ramcharger and pocket the extra $20k your not going to spend!
